In Prayers of Ecstasy
Keith Michael Roberts, copyright 1975 - .
My angel sings, softer than a cloud,
the song of songs resounding perfectly loud.
So pure and so free,
it is the light that I hear,
and I disappear.
The midnight sky is a symphony of stars,
old angels lost in their silent songs of fire.
Through the black of the night,
it is the light that I hear,
and I disappear.
East winds blow golden and mauve.
Oceans rolling, crystalline blue love.
In the southern sky is a fire,
all ablaze in crimson and green.
While upon the land Auriel stands,
and in-between
My angel sings, a rainbow is the sound,
silently stitching me from star to ground.
Through the sky and sea,
she sings to me
in prayers of ecstasy.
